Come Celebrate & Educate!

Welcome to the annual Earth Day event at Idlewild Park in Reno, NV. People come together from all over the High Sierra area to take part in this collaborative day of celebrating the planet we share. The park is filled each year with new activities and programs to increase outreach, engagement with the community/region and retention of knowledge that carries over into everyday practices. Join us to explore educational exhibits, non-profit organizations, arts and crafts and local businesses. Many are offering workshops, special topic themed areas and interactive activities.  Enjoy several stages with local live music and dance, food and drinks, and games and prizes for everyone.

  1. Can you please post the finalists for the creative writing and poetry contest?

    • Hi Brooke. Thank you for participating in the Creative Writing and Poetry Contest last year. About a week before the event, its gets a little too crazy for us post new things, but we get a little better every year. Everyone was notified directly I believe. This year, the contest is on again and we hope you’ll join again! Submissions for the Creative Writing and Poetry Contest this year are due by April 8th, and winners should be notified on April 11th. Winners will be invited to read their pieces aloud at the Earth Day event. Info for this year’s entry is located here: http://www.renoearthday.com/special-programs/creative-writing-poetry-read/
